My Students

Students at our school are very diverse and come from a variety of cultural backgrounds that create a great melting pot school community.

We are a dual site school and have a building for lower grades of pre-k and one for upper grades of 3rd-5th.

As the primary art teacher in both buildings I strive to provide students with as much exposure to a variety of art materials and experiences as possible on a low budget of art materials and supplies each year.

My Project

In these really challenging times, students need engaging art materials to work with! Some may be working on art projects at home and others may be coming into our school site for a hybrid learning situation and making art there. Because of the current COVID-19 pandemic students cannot share any materials in schools. Each student will need their own individual art kit with their own art materials that are not shared with others. Providing this is a cost that public schools cannot afford right now.

I want to provide fun and engaging art materials that most students will not have available to them at home.

Some of these materials include paint and painting paper, modeling clay that they can easily mold and form and will not dry out and felt, needles and thread for stitching as well as various interesting papers for collage projects.
