Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Providing period products will help students focus on their studies rather than being distracted by the lack of necessary hygiene items. Many students experience discomfort, anxiety, and embarrassment when they don't have access to menstrual products. By offering these products, students will feel more comfortable, confident, and able to concentrate on learning without worrying about managing their period. This will lead to better attendance, participation, and overall academic performance.

The goal of this project is to ensure that all students have equitable access to basic hygiene products so that no one has to miss class or feel stressed due to period-related challenges.

By normalizing access to period products, we aim to reduce stigma around menstruation and promote a supportive and inclusive school environment. Ultimately, we hope this project fosters greater student well-being which will translate into better focus, engagement, and success in the classroom.

My students are resilient, driven, and incredibly diverse, with each bringing unique backgrounds and perspectives to the classroom. Many of them face socioeconomic challenges, yet they show remarkable determination to succeed. Despite obstacles, they consistently demonstrate creativity, curiosity, and a passion for learning. By supporting them with basic needs like period products, we can help them unlock their full potential, knowing they have a community that cares about their overall well-being.
