My Students

My students reside on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. They come from an array of different ethnic and socioeconomic background. One thing that binds them together is an innate love for technology.

Each day students arrive at my classroom door eager to learn something new in Technology class.

They share stories of using a parent's phone, or of accessing video streaming applications or other popular gaming sites on their iPads. But is this use of technology advancing the skills equipping them with the skills their a successful future in computer science? Hands down, that answer is no, and that is where you can help them with the acquire skills vital for success in the 21st century.

My Project

Learning to code with Dash and Dot will get my students off the screen and bring technology to life before their little eyes! Play is a powerful teaching tool and these robots will accelerate my students' understanding of computer science in a digital world.

Working on computers is fun, but is all that screen time good for their cognitive development?

Enhancing their technology education by bringing Dash and Dot into the room will bump their learning to the next level.

Dash and Dot encourage students to continue building critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration skills for tomorrow’s job market. The curriculum includes challenge cards where students are afforded to figure out different ways to program these robots to achieve a specifc goal.
