My Students

Challenging times call for innovative solutions! My school district will be providing 100% remote teaching starting in August 2020, and my co-teacher and I will require some new technology to provide our students the best quality instruction they deserve. For this project, we are requesting two document cameras (for both the general and special education teachers).

My preschool program is called Expanded Transitional Kindergarten/Preschool Collaborative Classroom (ETK/PCC).

It includes eight students with disabilities and sixteen students without disabilities. This is an innovative and inclusive preschool model where students with special needs learn, play, and grow alongside their typically-developing peers. Research has shown time and time again that these inclusive classrooms are beneficial to both students with and without disabilities, while building a culture of compassion, acceptance, and friendships without boundaries.

We are a Title l school that receives federal funds to support at-risk students living at or near the poverty line. Title l aims to bridge the gap between low-income students and other students.

My Project

During this COVID-19 pandemic, teachers and their students have been rising to the unprecedented challenges of remote instruction. We've been discovering new ways to stay connected and provide high-quality instruction from a distance. This we could not have accomplished without the use of technology.

Document cameras serve many essential purposes for online, remote learning, such as providing real-time video recordings of teachers in action.

Document cameras can also allow us to digitize learning materials that would normally be available only in the classroom. This would allow us to transition the learning experience online.
