My Students

Are you a visual learner? Do you learn best when you see something take place right before your eyes? This year, I have a lot of visual learners in my third grade classroom. These students would benefit greatly from a document camera in the classroom.

My classroom is made up of twenty third graders, all of whom are very eager to learn.

Our school is considered moderate poverty and is located in an area outside of Central Ohio. My students are learning how to be leaders in the classroom and in life!

My Project

A document camera would be such a helpful addition to our classroom. It would allow me to make learning come to life in all subject areas by placing items under the camera and projecting them onto our SMARTboard. In Math, students would be able to see small manipulatives such as base ten blocks, coins, and the measurements on rulers. In Reading, the document camera would allow us to examine text close up so that all students could see. In Social Studies, we would be able to study maps and photos up close. Science experiments would especially come to life under the document camera. The possibilities are endless with this piece of technology!

Having a document camera in class will enrich students' experiences across all subject areas.

It will also open up new opportunities for technology use in and out of the classroom.
