This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

When a classroom has resources, procedures, and students who are explicitly taught expectations, learning happens naturally. I instill the belief in my students that creativity and flexibility are important elements in achieving success in anything.

Currently, we have a fitness room that we use for different types of lessons.

It is not very spacious so it is important that I take into account everything in the room to make sure students are safe from tripping and electrical hazards while having instructional seating that is conducive to learning. It’s for this reason that I am asking our generous donor community for an Apple TV so that I can project lessons from a centralized location.

Having an Apple TV will eliminate the need or me to have a steel media cart with a projector along with an extension cord strung out in the path and in close proximity to my students. In fact, it takes up space equivalent to 3 students. Also, my students need to have their personal space which is an important factor in individuals feeling safe. Space is limited so unfortunately students are crammed and need to reconfigure themselves every time I need to lecture and manage the Power Points.

An Apple TV will allow me to control the presentations from a central location which will promote student safety and allow them to be comfortable in their learning environment.
