My Students

Imagine being a preschooler and going to school for the first time virtually. My students are curious, willing to learn, explore, and eager to learn as much as they are exposed to virtually. It's great seeing their eyes light up when they are presented new discoveries.

My Project

"Ms. T., I don't see the ladybug". My preschoolers love interactive reading with me but it's hard for them to see the pictures in the book because they are using a tablet. Many of them are just beginning to learn to discuss what is happening in the story that is being read to them. Some of my preschoolers' talk and comment and many of them wear their facial expressions while I'm reading to them. It is important for students who have special needs and students learning a second language to be able to see the pictures in a book being read to them. The document camera will solve this problem.

It's hard for me to see their faces and respond to them while I'm reading virtually by holding the book in my hand.

My preschoolers are curious learners and the document camera will allow them to look at things I present up close through their tablet. The document camera will allow me to look at my screen of preschoolers while reading to them. One thing I have learned about virtual learning is that if a preschooler is not captivated in what they see on screen they will walk away from the screen. I don't want any of my students to become disinterested in learning especially at an early age.
