Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My classroom is in an urban environment, filled with kids from all walks of life. Many of my students are English language learners, which means they are learning how to read, write, and speak English.

Struggling readers, and new to English learners, benefit from being able to look at the words and then hear them being read aloud by a fluent reader.

My students also have access to a large digital library of picture and chapter books. These same students gain more enjoyment and improve their reading vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency when listening to books in this manner. These headphones will make it possible for my students to access this amazing library and improve their reading skills.

My students also have a learning program with learning videos to watch. Each student has their own learning path to follow to help them catch up or accelerate their learning. Having headphones is critical to access this program in a way that doesn't disrupt the learning of others.
