Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students start off their day entering the classroom with a hug, high five, or handshake. I love greeting each student and letting them know they are special to me.

I work in a Title I school, where 80% of our students are receiving free or reduced-price lunch.

I have a very high active, social group of 2nd graders who deserve the same resources (books, computers, technology) other schools receive. Thanks for all the support! It means the world to me and all my students!

My Project

My students will be able to hear their favorite books while reading along at the listening center. Hearing the book on CD while reading the words will help my readers learn how the words on the page come alive while hearing fluency and expression. Having a literacy center provides another read-aloud model for the students to hear.

Students will have access to the listening center on a daily basis.

This will provide another model for students to hear fluency and expression throughout their day. My second graders will be building vocabulary and language skills to help in their daily lives.
