My Students

My students are fun loving, eager to learn children with special needs ranging in grades from kindergarten through first grade. They attend a K-1 self-contained Special Ed class in a public school in Queens.

My students are supported with hands-on activities and topics they enjoy.

They love to learn about animals, plants and the natural world.

Students often work in small groups to develop academic and social skills. They are learning to collaborate with their peers and share ideas and express themselves through learning experiences.

My Project

It's difficult to learn when you are out of supplies. The students in my class struggle to afford simple supplies such as pencils, paper and notebooks. These supplies will provide my class a worry free start for the 2018/2019 school year.

Each child will be provided a Primary Lined Mead Composition notebook for reading and writing.

Primary lines help support students with fine motor disabilities and provides students who are visual learners a space to illustrate their writing.

Primary pencils and pencil support grips allow students with special needs easy to hold writing tools so they can focus on creative writing and not struggle with learning to grip a pencil.
