My students are diverse and love our class community. We are in a Title I school, so many of my students have economic and environmental challenges that can affect their learning. I work very hard to ensure that they have a loving, safe, and exciting school experience.
I want them to love coming to school and never feel like they missed out on an opportunity to be successful.
Budget cuts throughout education have been extremely detrimental for our students. We have the funding to provide most of the basics but it can be a constant struggle.
Without the help from generous donors, like yourself, I would not be able to provide the quality of education that I received as a child for my students.
My Project
When asked, "What do I need the most in my classroom?", every year my answer is the same...copy paper. We need it for Reading Workshops, Math Workshops, tests, homework, parent reminders OH MY!
Our school's budget is limited and one of the first areas to always be cut is the number of copies we are alloted to make in a month.
500...that's all. One reading intervention packet for 1 week X 17 students= 68 copies. We typically use two intervention lessons a week X 4 weeks= 544. My monthly copies have already been exceeded.
I have purchased my own printer for my classroom and I run my own copies. I let my teammates use my 500 copies to help them out. What I need the most for my students to be successful is copy paper. Can you copy that?
More than half of students from low‑income households
