Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is located in the neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen in NYC. I have students from various backgrounds, home situations, and income levels. The majority of my students do live below the poverty line and many aspire to be the first in their families to attend college.

My students are passionate, unique individuals who come to our school to be engaged with real-life challenges and issues that are integrated into every area of the curriculum.

All students who attend our school have an interest in business, entrepreneurship, communication, technology, and sports.

My Project

Our DIY/Crafting Club was launched this year to support students transition back into our school community by providing them a space to safely socialize and express themselves through crafting. But our club would benefit from a Cricut Maker 3 to design unique crafting projects that they would display and possibly sell to fundraise for different causes.

A Cricut Maker 3 would enable my students the opportunity to create projects that go beyond using paper, glue and glitter.

This machine would allow crafters to cut, draw, score, deboss, engrave, and foil a variety of materials while working on social skills after 18 months of Remote Learning.
