My Students

Our school is a Title I school, serving students in grades Pre-K through fifth. My third grade students are very diverse. Some of them come from various ethnic backgrounds, some come from single-family homes, living in poverty-level conditions. Some have learning disabilities, and some are gifted academically.

My students deserve the absolute best there is to offer, yet oftentimes are exposed to the worst.

I strive to provide them with the best learning opportunities, so that they can learn in ways that best fit their needs. I hope that you choose to partner with our class to help me make that happen!

My Project

My classroom is full of diverse students who LOVE to read. However, my classroom library is lacking in books with diverse backgrounds and experiences. I want to be more intentional about the books that I am reading aloud to my kiddos, as well as the books that I have available for them to browse through. Therefore I have requested several titles.

My students need more books that they can relate to as we learn to celebrate more of our differences.

Reading these books together will open up rich discussions about diversity. These titles will also be readily available for my students in our classroom library. We would greatly appreciate these titles and cannot wait to see the conversations that spark from them!
