My Project

I am surrounded by a group of excited and determined individuals. My students have the opportunity to earn an associate's degree and high school diploma when they graduate as they are enrolled in the early college high school program in my district. This program is rigorous and it pushes me as an educator to ensure my students are prepared in every way.

Reading improves student performance; therefore, the more book options they have, the more opportunities are available for them to find something of interest.

My students do not have the opportunity to visit a library to check out books because there is not one readily available to them. This is why I want to have an extensive library collection in my classroom. My scholars have expressed an interest in improving their reading, comprehension, and writing abilities. They have shown me that they want to do what it takes to get better. These students inspire me to continue being a better teacher and provide resources however I can.

Mrs. Thurman Early College High School Grades 9-12
