My Students

Each day my students come in full of life, energy, and light. They are all ready to learn and eager to start new projects that require deep thinking. In our classroom, my co-teacher and I, believe that we are all a vital part of a community that supports and cares for one another. My mantra is all about fostering kindness and it is something that we all work on as a class by setting "Kindness Goals" each week. We set our expectations high and know that the sky is the limit- not only when it comes to kindness but our academic work as well.

My Project

Diversifying our library will allow us to have all of our students be able to see themselves in the books they are reading. The library will act as both mirrors to see their own culture, religion, and identity but also as a window into the identity of others. This will help us as a classroom community grow to be more compassionate and empathetic toward the differences of all of us. Helping us all understand that those differences are what make us all so special. We want to make sure that all of our students can see character's that emulate themselves in the books that they are reading.
