It is important to me that my students learn how to be respectful of everyone. Reading opens up the world to students and allows them to step outside of their everyday lives or realize that they are not alone with some of the issues they face. This project will allow me to add diverse titles to our classroom library and supply me with a new bookshelf, as I am running out of room on our current bookshelves-- what a wonderful issue to have!
It is important that students have access to books that differ from their own experience, so they can view other perspectives and become compassionate, empathetic people to the world around them.
Please help me add modern, young adult diverse titles to our classroom library so my students can learn about the different cultures, human experiences, and the world!
