My Project

This project is designed to give students choice in seating where they can refocus and calm themselves. Currently, our classroom seating is mostly comprised of single seating student desks and chairs. This style of seating is extremely restricting to a student's success in the classroom. My students are diverse individuals who all need something different within their learning environment to be successful. Students come to school with a variety of needs, such as the inability to focus, ADHD, autism, trying to figure out different cultures, genders, and racial backgrounds, looking for acceptance from their peers, and invisible needs too, that are harder for others to notice.

Being able to replace our current seating with new types of seating and desks will help to meet the physical needs of all students, regardless of their capabilities.
