Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school offers students culturally responsive learning spaces to exercise their brilliance. Our scholars build the academic skills, strength of character, and emotional well-being to thrive in school and lead in their communities.

Our antiracist organization proudly provides youth in the neighborhood with the academic excellence and supports needed to thrive.

All children can and will succeed when provided a great education. We challenge our students with a demanding academic program, and challenge ourselves to examine issues of racism and identity and model the learning and dialogue needed to ensure a more equitable future for young people of color.

My Project

For the 2022-2023 school year, each classroom will be equipped with brand new books that support diversity, social justice, and inclusivity. In order to prepare for these libraries, we will first begin by having a sample library where teachers can check out books and as a school we will determine which books to order for next school year.

These books are very exciting because they will spark student interest in these important topics.

We believe that the books will empower students to bring about change in their communities and the world.
