Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our class is comprised of 25 excited 4th grade inquirers who are jubilant to embark upon this new learning year. We want to support and nourish their new classroom experience. They enjoy flexible learning options that are provided in the workshop curriculum which require a highly organized environment.

They are caring, gregarious, open minded, balanced, and reflective.

They are eager to begin the new year and thrilled to explore new learning options in the classroom. They possess an inspirational attitude towards learning. Their love of learning is visible every day and very inspirational!

My Project

This project was created to add more diverse reads to our classroom library! Providing diverse reads will allow students the opportunity to connect in a meaningful way to a global community. According to Webster's Dictionary, "the concept of diversity encompasses acceptance and respect. It means understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual differences.

Books can be like mirrors that provide an opportunity for students to see themselves in the literature.

Adding diverse reads to our classroom such as And Tango Makes Three, Stella Brings the Family, My Name is Yoon, and many more will provide more "mirrors" in our classroom!
