My Students

What I love about my 6th graders is that there is a lot of diversity within each class of ELA that I teach. My 6th graders come from a variety of cultures, speak different languages, and a few are even from other countries. I have quite a few ELL students as well. All of my students benefit from reading classroom novels, and as we read them together with the class sets I’m hoping to get, language skills improve, reading fluency improves, comprehension and vocabulary also improves!

My Project

I have a diverse group of 6th grade students and many do not read at home at all, and some have parents that do not speak English at all.

My hope is to improve reading fluency, as well as speaking and listening skills by providing great classroom novels for my classroom library as well as some individual novels for my students to read independent.

My students and I thank you in advance for the funding of these novels! I know that this will help foster a lifelong love of easing for all my students.
