Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students at my school are inquisitive, compassionate, and creative. The students in my classroom are from a low socioeconomic background benefiting from our Dual Language program at Samara Community School. My students have the opportunity to learn English and Spanish. Students participate in other extracurricular activities such as, Art, Music, Capoeira, tennis, and swimming. Students learned through projects and field trips experiences. My students are energetic, and curious kindergartners who are just eager to learn and explore our Dual Language classrooms.

My Project

Students at my school are inquisitive, compassionate, and creative. As Kindergartners in a dual language program books are so important. Not only are books important, but books in which students can identify themselves with the characters and their stories. Many of my students do not have access to books at home and rely on our classroom library to read high-quality books. Books are very important in Kindergarten because students are beginning to fall in love with reading, and most of them are learning how to read their favorite books. There is a buzz about books and an excitement for reading in our school.
