Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are an amazing group of 3rd graders. These students attend a Title I school where there is a strong school culture and a diverse population. Students are active members of their school community. Sharing good things, peanut butter and jelly partners, and groups are how we continue to build our classroom community.

My students love learning.

From reading new texts to solving new math equations, my students take part in it all! My students are actively engaged and ready to continue to excel this year! Terrific in Third!

My Project

The materials in this project will make a difference in my students' learning and classroom experience in multiple ways. My students will utilize these books, not only to make new discoveries but also to determine reading interests and the materials will ensure that they have smooth transitions throughout the day!

How did you discover a topic you love?

My students need the opportunity to read many different types of books to figure out what types of books they are interested in. They will not know unless they have the opportunity to try and what better place than their classroom! Using the texts, students will be able to create book recommendations for their classmates. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will go towards purchasing engaging classwork and small group activities. Materials will also be used for classroom organization, printed materials, and engaging classwork opportunities.
