Our kindergarten is located in a unique and diverse urban setting in northern New Jersey. This community strives to help all learners meet their potential regardless of their backgrounds. We strive to provide a safe place for students to grow through a variety of methods.
The district motto, "That each may learn," reflects this goal and is the hallmark of every classroom and building within the district.
Differentiated instruction and individualized instruction are the keys to achieving in our classrooms!
My Project
Through this diverse collection of books, students in kindergarten will be able to see new role models that more accurately reflect the children of our district. From books about Ramadan and having divorced parents, to appreciating what makes each one of special, be skin color or hair, these books will help every student feel acknowledged and seen.
With the addition of these materials, I will be able to do read alouds with my students, both virtual and in person.
These read alouds are an important layer of our kindergarten reading program and will greatly benefit from the inclusion of these unique titles.
