Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My classroom acts as a home to my students. It is a place to explore new ideas, learn about new topics, challenge their knowledge, and expand their understanding of all content areas. My classroom is a place for them to feel safe, included, and important.
Each day we start with a smile and a hello so they know they are important.
These students come to school with many concerns that are out of their control. They need to be inspired in the classroom to learn, have fun, and understand that they are cared about and loved. Through many projects I hope to inspire them to realize their potential and achieve their dreams.
My Project
My vision for this project is to help my students foster a love for reading. By allowing my students the opportunity to browse books of all diverse cultures with main characters that look like the diverse students I have in the classroom.
Giving my students the chance to read stories of their culture can help give them the courage to be the person they want to be.
When children see books they relate to, they will often choose to read the book and enjoy it because they can connect with the text.
With these books, I hope my students feel proud of who they are and where their families have come from. I hope you can help my students foster a love for reading.
