Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a low income/high poverty community. Our school gives 100 percent of the children free breakfast and lunch.

By the age of five, many of them have already faced challenges that some adults have never had to face in their entire lives.

I have 30 kindergarten students, ready to explore the world around them and eager to learn. My students are very active and love exploring and discovering. It is great to watch their eyes light up when they learn something new and exciting.

My Project

My classroom is in need of easels, Many of the activities we do in kindergarten are hands on, without an easel my students have a hard time reaching the board and are missing the opportunity to participate in different games and activities that promote letter recognition, sound and word recognition,and using magnetic letters to make words. The students will also be able to practice one to one correspondence when we read books

I want my students to love reading and writing and to be engaged in each and every step of their learning process and to have fun while doing it.
