This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Decoding is a fundamental skill that students need in order to read. By using hands-on and multi-sensory materials like phonics tubs, books and dry erase boards, students will gain the skills needed to decode. Multi-sensory and explicit instruction in reading is needed to break the code. 90% of words can be decoded. Only 13% are words need to be memorized.

Students need hands-on materials to manipulate to practice the phonics skills they are learning.

Most of my students are students with a learning disability or students where English is their second language. These materials will be key contributors to their reading success.
