Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

These new Common Core Standards are fantastic! Finally, I can know for sure that I am not teaching to the test and teaching children to THINK!

My school is located in between two housing projects, and as a result the majority of my students come from less fortunate homes with little or no income.

Luckily, that doesn't stop their love of learning or stop me from doing everything I can to teach them!

My Project

Given their economic hardships, and the educational deficits they cause, I am always trying to find new and engaging ways to reach my students. These new Common Core Standards have given me that opportunity! No more teaching to the test. Now we can focus on actual skills! But to do that, we need some help! I am requesting these Language Arts materials to help me really dive into the new standards so I can really get this Common Core ball rolling in my classroom! With these materials, I will be able to create small group instruction to meet specific needs of students struggling in language skills such as phonics, fluency, grammar, and comprehension. My students need Common Core Standards Language Arts Learning Centers and 30 independent work partitions.
