My Students

My students are thoughtful learners and creative thinkers! As students living in a large urban city with many high needs, including learning English, they love hands-on projects and working together to problem-solve. This year will be one of the most difficult starts to the school year because we are starting fully remote. Students will be expected to work independently from home on a Chromebook. This will require organization and high levels of self-regulation. Despite these challenges, my students are resilient and determined to learn.

I want my students to engage in meaningful activities while at home.

My Project

6th grade math can be challenging for many students, but beginning with concrete tools and models will build the foundation they need for ongoing success. This project will allow for Distance Learning Math Packs home to each student with tools that will allow them to interact with materials in real-time during virtual learning.

This project will provide students with interactive math games and centers that can be played at home and virtually with peers to encourage math talk and help with developing number sense and increasing problem solving skills.
