This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach kindergarten at a wonderful and diverse Title I school.

My school district has decided to continue with full online distance learning for our students.

Unfortunately, I know a lot of them will not have access to all of the materials that they will need to access the full curriculum. I want to make sure that my students have all the materials they need without adding a financial burden to their amazing parents who are already doing so much to support our online program. With your help we can provide them with the tools they need to have a successful school year.

My Project

My students will use these double sided whiteboards and pencil and paper writing kits while they are learning from home during the coronavirus pandemic. They will use the whiteboards during our online lessons as a quick and easy way to participate while I check for student understanding when they hold up their whiteboard to show their answers. I will also make writing journals with the lined paper to help them practice writing their names, letter of the day, and simple sentences. These writing kits will be a great resource for my students because it will give them some of the necessary materials to participate in distance learning.
