This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students will come to me in fall having finished Kinder in distance learning and will more than likely start distance learning in the fall. They did not get the fun "kinder culmination", nor will they be able to experience starting school as a "big" 1st grader, in a big yard, with their friends. They come from low-income households and have not had much experience with the world outside their small community.

My Project

Teaching from home this fall is inevitable. I have an amazing classroom at school that has taken 21 years of research, hard work and time to organize and create. My house was not designed for online teaching. However, I did my best in the Spring with the very little time I had to plan.

This Fall, I hope to be more organized and prepared to teach.

The more I can plan and prepare now, the more focused on teaching I can be once school starts. The ink for my home computer will allow me to print out assessments, charts, posters, and other documents I will need to communicate with my school, colleagues, and students. The chart paper is big enough so that my students will be able to see charts and other graphic organizers we create through their Zoom lessons. The Welcome postcards will also help me connect with my students when I drop off their distance learning supplies.
