My Students

My students are an inclusive group of both general education students and special education students who have a range of needs and learning styles.

My students are eager second grade learners who love school!

Being out of school this past year has really taken a toll on them, and the thought of going full remote this year is really impacting them socially and emotionally. My students are a mixed group of students with disabilities that impact their attention, focus, and ability to reach second grade standards.

These amazing students are visual learners, who learn best when they can connect to and relate to exciting lessons, and are motivated by hands-on experiences and tasks that help them develop their creativity and critical thinking skills.

My Project

My students are eager second grade learners who love and miss coming to school. They are a mixed group of students with disabilities that impact their attention, focus and ability to reach second grade standards. They often struggle to stay engaged during mini lessons, and most are performing below second grade standards. These amazing students are visual, auditory and kinesthetic learners, who learn best when lessons are presented to them through a variety of different mediums. They thrive when songs, videos, and visuals are used, and when participation is required. Now that NYC has officially gone remote, my school is rapidly moving towards finding a way to move school to a virtual platform. This new platform has been incredibly difficult for my students who have not had exposure to this type of technology before.

My students need a more interactive and specialized approach to instruction as we move to deliver it virtually.

By providing an iPad, I will be able to provide students with interactive opportunities to deliver instruction. This can be done by screen sharing, recording and sharing videos, and utilizing certain apps to provide a virtual "hands-on" learning opportunity.

By helping to fund this project, you will give my students the opportunity to experience their education in new, interactive and exciting ways. This project would give my students the tools necessary to help them succeed in a world that is advancing daily through technology. Thank you!
