Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I provide speech and language therapy to amazing, hard-working elementary school students with speech and/or language disabilities. Some of my students have co-occurring disabilities (e.g., autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, etc). My students love learning! These students benefit from a multi-sensory approach, which means they learn best when lessons involve engaging more than one sense at a time. We do this through many methods including reading, listening to stories, and playing games.

Our learning community has been greatly impacted by the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

Due to the inability to return to our school, I do not have access to many of the materials I typically use during my speech and language therapy sessions. Your donations will help strengthen my at-home classroom for my students.

My Project

These materials will help me build my distance learning classroom and provide what my students need to be fully engaged in their teletherapy session. Your donations will help my students thrive while learning from home.

Many students with speech and language disabilities thrive when lessons are depicted using multiple modalities.

These added materials will help facilitate the different learning styles of my students during our speech and language teletherapy sessions.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus by allowing me to create interactive lessons, but you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
