My Students

There was no way of knowing that when my students and I said goodbye in March it would mean that it was our last day in the classroom. However, the year is not over yet!

My students and I have taken on the distance learning journey head-on!

We are actively engaging in all sorts of different online platforms and learning new things. My students and I participate three times a week in social emotional activities, we have meetings with parents to go over new material, and check in with each other daily. In addition, I am beginning to record lessons at home for them to view and continue to learn new material. I am amazed by their level of engagement and participation, and families' willingness to try new things.

My students are imaginative and fun-loving kids. They come from low-income households and have not had much experience with the world outside their small community.

Many of my students don't have just recently been provided with the ability to learn online. Many have depended on worksheet packets and whatever books they have at home. Despite the hardships they are facing with school being closed, they are eager learners.

My Project

Please help me give my students learning materials for home and distance learning. Students and many families are not able to leave their homes due to the quarantine in New York. My students needs a variety of paper, math games and math materials, reading comprehension books, and hands-on learning materials to complete math and ELA assignments.

My students need tools that will support them through the summer as they prepare for the next grade.

My students need kits that contain grade-level tools to help them complete work I am providing daily. These kits will be put together and hand delivered by myself and contain hands-on learning materials that make learning exciting as well as materials that alleviate the need for a printer in their home! These materials will be mailed directly to my student's home.
