Discovering Science With STEM Tubs

My Students

My students are smart, curious, creative, funny, hardworking, and friendly towards one another. My 18 students represent families all over the world, as well as a variety of learning levels. My school consists of over 1,000 students of diverse backgrounds. This can make teaching challenging because of the diverse learning abilities, but my students are always eager to learn. My students continually face obstacles head on and continually strive to do better. Their drive and passion for learning is amazing!

My Project

My students love to explore through hands-on learning. These items will be used to create math and science boxes that will give students the opportunity to see how the engineering and design process works. It will also allow them to explore math using manipulatives. They will be able to experiment with items to discover how motion, light, friction, weight, measurement, magnets, and circuits work. My students have a curiosity that can’t be motived by just listening to their teacher talk. It has to be discovered and applied in order for them to truly grasp the concept. These materials will give them that opportunity. Their faces light up when they explore news things. These science and math tools will enhance our daily learning and discovery process. I can’t wait to get the kids excited about learning with these discovery boxes!
