My Students

Bring fun back to science!! Hating science seems to be a part of middle school for my students. They have lost that interest they had when they were young.

Our school is a public school in New York City.

We service a low income population where many of our kids qualify for free lunches. There are also language barriers that many of our kids must overcome, especially when it comes to their science education. With all of their challenges, they are still eager to learn and willing to try things when the opportunity is present and fun.

My Project

The density cube sets I am requesting will allow my students to complete hands-on activities to help them understand the concept of density. They will finally be able to hold two objects of the exact same shape and size, one in each hand, but one will feel much heavier because it is more dense!! They will also be able to measure, weigh, and calculate the density of each which helps them practice their math skills. Understanding these concepts will better prepare them for their high school classes as well.

Please help my students get a better understanding of this difficult concept and at the same time, help them find the fun in science!
