My Project

I have a great group of third graders. They come to school every day eager to learn. I love finding new ways to engage them in learning.

I have requested Squishmallows and white art paper.

My class theme is Squishmallows. My students work to earn the Squishmallows by reaching goals. For this project, I am having the kids create their own Squishmallow character. They will use the stuffed Squishmallows as inspiration.

The paper will be used to first practice drawing through directed drawing lessons. After practicing different drawing techniques, the students will make their final drawings. In addition to the drawings, students will write a story about their characters. One of our standards is to write a narrative essay, and this will be the perfect activity to keep them interested in writing.
