My Project

Nearly half the population knows the feeling of being caught off guard without a pad or tampon in your bag. The fear of bleeding through your clothes, or the embarrassment of having to ask multiple people for a product until you find someone who has one. Or maybe you can think back to going to the school nurse and being given the choice between a pad so large it could absorb a 2-litre bottle of soda, or a tampon in a rough cardboard tube where it looks like the edge was cut with a serrated knife. No student should be put in that position, or worse, a position where they don't come to school due to a lack of access to these products.

My office has a labeled drawer that every student has access to without permission that is filled with pads and tampons because no child should have to fear judgment, embarrassment, or lack.

This project will refill my supply to ensure that there's never a moment where I have to be the one to tell a student, "I don't have one for you," or have a child choose to use a product that does not align with their comfort due to lack of access. We are so grateful for your support in supplying our students with the right to access, dignity, and care.
