This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year is my fifth year as the Visual Arts teacher at my school, my second year with my very own classroom! I want to inspire my art students to explore different materials and create fantastic works of art, but I need help creating a space that will engage the students. I work in a school in Brooklyn that has over 950 students. I work with children from pre-k to fifth grade.

My students are amazing and they teach me something new every day.

They are talented, curious, and they love to experiment and learn new techniques as they express their ideas through art.

My Project

My art students need two new iPads to utilize in the art room. As the Art Teacher, I use Artsonia at our school. It is the largest student online art gallery in the world. Every child can have an online portfolio and keep their masterpieces in a digital form.

Having two iPads will allow students to upload artwork onto ARTSONIA in a timely fashion, and digitally share their portfolios with family near and far.

The iPads are also a great resource to explore the digital art world. They can greatly benefit from having access to resources and video tutorials at their very own fingertips. Sometimes when students want to draw or build certain things, they like to see an image of it for inspiration.

It will give my 900+ art students experience in taking photos and publishing their work to share with their families and friends in hopes of increasing parent engagement and student creativity! Thank you in advance!
