My Students

Our school is working very hard to prepare for the best learning experience possible given the current conditions created by the Corona virus. I know the students, parents, and teachers (including myself) are nervous about what the "new normal" classroom will look like.

I want to provide the opportunity for my students to be able to safely do their best at learning math this year.

My 150 plus students deserve this opportunity to continue learning even when the world seems to be standing still from the pandemic.

Using digital tools will allow me to help them learn and safely show me their thinking through their work step-by-step!

My Project

Due to the current Corona Virus Pandemic, our school is working hard to keep our students safe, parents less stressed, and teachers safe. In my 7th grade math classroom, I am preparing to teach using digital as much as possible to reduce the risk of spreading this virus and any other that comes along.

Digital tools will help with this goal.

Digital products from Teachers Pay Teachers that I can use in my classroom will benefit all my students in their continuing process of learning math. In addition to those resources, Unfortunately, math is something that just giving answers is not enough. I need to see my students work to see their thinking and conceptual errors. In addition to the Teachers Pay Teachers resources, with the need for as little paper being turned in as possible to slow the spread of the Corona virus, I would like to offer my students the tool of using the Kami software that will allow them to be able to show their work on pdf worksheets easily by writing with a mouse or using other digital tools such as text editor, text-to-speech for those struggling readers, equation editors, etc. Then, they will be able to submit their work for me to again use Kami to give them feedback more easily all through the Kami software. Kami will also allow in-class discussions that the students can project their thinking/work to the screen for all to see. This will be a great tool for my students to use to increase their math knowledge base this year.
