My students are creative middle schoolers who are interested in exploring the world of art. Students manipulate a variety of media in our classroom as they find a variety of solutions to challenges they approach with visual answers. Our school is a great place for learning and I am proud of the accomplishments of our students, which include recognition at local, state, and national competitions. In addition to achieving this success, my students are interested in giving back to the community through a variety of charitable activities.
My Project
In this project, students will be asked to work both individually and collaboratively to digitally create stories that demonstrate themes of Building Character, Celebrating Diversity, and making Healthy Choices. In order to help students make connections to the content, it is important to offer a range of possibilities for how they can approach this digital storytelling project.
The DoInk apps being asked for in this project will give students a diverse range of ways to create stories using digital tools.
The Doink Animation and Drawing app will allow students to use the iPad to create original works that use animation concepts and skills to explore the themes listed above. With the DoInk Green Screen app, students can also be able to insert themselves and other elements right into the animations they create. Students can use these apps as stand alone digital tools or in conjunction with each other based on what they are planning to create for their digital story. In addition, students will be able to use the stylus to better control their drawings for animations and other effects when they create their digital stories.
