My Project

My students in our rural high school are incredibly creative and eager to connect with technology, but they lack access to cutting-edge STEM resources that urban schools take for granted. What makes them special is their resilience and determination to succeed despite limited opportunities.

The Sphero Mini, Sphero Bolt +, and the ELEGOO Robot Car will transform how students engage with technology, allowing them to code interactive narratives and visualize storylines through movement and light.

These hands-on tools make abstract coding concepts tangible while connecting to literature.

The diverse book collection—from "Beasts of Prey" to graphic novel adaptations of classics—provides windows into varied experiences and demonstrates how stories can be told across different media. When students program robots to follow narrative paths inspired by these books, they bridge traditional literacy with digital skills.

My goal is to create an inclusive technology space where students discover the intersection of storytelling and coding. By experiencing literature through both traditional and technological lenses, they'll develop critical thinking, computational reasoning, and digital literacy skills essential for future careers while finding their own creative voices.
