I want to share my passion for the beauty of the world's art with my students! I teach high school art in a very low-income district. We have extremely limited resources, especially when it comes to technology. I struggle each year with a tiny budget, and I truly want to provide my students with the opportunity to experience culture and art to the fullest.

We have very limited funds at my school. The district is considered low-income, and our technology is very lacking. I only have one computer in my classroom (Windows 98!!) Also, there are not enough textbooks for the number of students I have. I want my students to see all types of artwork - when we do a unit on Picasso, I want to show them twenty pieces by Picasso, etc. My goal is to be able to use a laptop and digital projector to show artworks not only in Art History, but in my studio classes as well. Also, I would use the projector to share demonstrations in real-time with the whole class rather than one-on-one. Short movie clips about techniques and artists could also be shown as they pertain to the specific lesson. A digital projector would be the first piece of the puzzle in building an Art Room that fully integrates technology and the resources of the Internet into the curriculum, and into the experiences of my students.

I need a digital projector which can be connected to a computer. I hope to be able to use a laptop eventually, but for now I can use my desktop. This projector will be used to show pertinent artworks, film clips, and demonstrations to the class. Finally, students can create slideshows of their own artwork to share with the class. How inspiring!!

My students show so much potential, and so much interest, but are limited by our lack of resources. I know that if I can bring the art to them in a meaningful way, they will be inspired and their creativity will grow by leaps and bounds.
