Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are eager beavers! They love to discuss their ideas, try new things, and learn new skills. Many are from low-income families and have had few of the opportunities and experiences that other families consider standard. My students face homelessness, single-parent​ families, hunger, and trauma. One hundred percent of my students receive free lunch and breakfast at school. These students need extra support and opportunities to help them succeed.

Working with these students creates special challenges and special opportunities.

While many enter school with limited language skills and there are many outside stressors in their lives, school is a special place for them. It is a place where they are safe, they are loved, their bellies are full, and a world full of wonder is opened up to them. Please help my students continue to grow and achieve!

My Project

Due to the pandemic this year, more than half my families have decided to keep their children at home and learn remotely. This means a complete overhaul of how I teach students! Now my days are spent teaching online and creating lessons plans that can be delivered virtually.

A Teacher Pay Teachers gift card will allow me to purchase digital materials that can be used in Google Classroom and over Google Meets.

These materials allow my students to work on math and reading skills just like they would in school. Without digital resources, online learning is just talk, talk, talk. Please help my students get the materials they need to participate fully in the online education.
