My Students

My 9th and 10th grade students come from a variety of backgrounds, mostly first-generation college students, foster kids, and English language learners. Almost all of my students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.

Everyone who steps foot in my classroom is expected to think, explore, hypothesize, evaluate information, and think independently while working collaboratively.

My students have yet to fully discover the empowerment that literacy can give them. Every day, they are given the chance to practice and improve their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.

My Project

Almost all my students qualify for free or reduced lunch. Not all of my students are privileged with access to a working computer. Having Chromebooks in my classroom can easily help those students who cannot afford to bring their own device to school. What good would a great technology-based lesson plan do, if not all students have access to technology? Help me provide the opportunity of teaching important 21st century digital skills to ALL of my students.

These Chromebooks would allow my students to participate in our online educational activities, preparing them to become solution-oriented citizens, equipped with necessary 21st century digital literacy skills.
