Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Being admitted to a vibrant and creative art school is not the easiest thing to do. While aware of the school's low acceptance rate, thousands of prospective students are competing for the spot!

Located in the middle of Wynwood's Art District in Miami, this school is THE place to be!

I am privileged to teach the most talented and diverse students in Miami!

The violas, cellos, pianos, violins, and saxophones- all are playing their instruments in syncopation. The chorus rooms are filled with beautiful voices and as I peek through the dance studio's window, I can see the ballet dancers gracefully dancing en pointe.

In addition to their extraordinary talents, my students have varying abilities and they learn in an all-inclusive, safe environment. From English as a Second Language to gifted and those with varying disabilities, they engage in cooperative learning and everyone is accepted. When they walk into my class, they are eager to know what they will learn that day.

My Project

The extra computers will make a significant difference in my students' education because they are learning new ways to collaborate in groups, communicate effectively, and utilize their critical thinking skills online to create their assignments.

In order to effectively enhance student learning and motivation, access to these laptops will enable them to listen to podcasts, collaborate, write essays using online applications like Google Docs, create amazing presentations using PowToons, Emaze, and Google Slides.

In a 21st century classroom, every class should have a complete class set of computers to prepare them for high school, college, and beyond. Receiving these laptops will make this a reality.
