This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Our Elementary is a Title 1 school on the Southside of St. Petersburg, Florida. Many of our students are homeless, in foster care or living below poverty. Each teacher is given 5 computers for the entire class to share. Our computers are missing buttons, they turn off randomly or they have to be plugged up in order to work. These tablets will allow my scholars to access digital learning with ease. They are required to have 45 minutes in both reading and math online and its hard to do it with a class of 22 and 5 barely working computers.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
