I am the luckiest teacher there is, because I teach the best students in the whole world! This spring I had to opportunity to take my advanced students on a field trip to Texas Tech University School of Art where they were able to experiment with digital animation and were able to make stop motion films using iPads. The creativity and joy this sparked in my students was so inspiring. I also have several students interested in graphic design and digital illustration, and unfortunately do not have the tools to do this as a class-wide project.
In the future, all my students hope to be able to build digital portfolios to show their growth and progress throughout the year and these iPad's would allow them a place to take photos and keep track of their artwork digitally.
Coming from rural backgrounds, many of my students do not have access to devices or internet access at home - so having these tools at school is vital for college preparation, art competitions, and documenting student growth.
