Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students in poverty are shown that they will become nothing, that this is the best for them, that no one cares about them. Having students who are in the Special Education program have an added disadvantage.

At our school we try to change this mindset of our students.

We spend a lot of our personal money getting our classrooms ready and getting school supplies because the families cannot afford them, and by providing clothes and food when needed.

"Students have to Maslow before they can Bloom" - Dwayne Reed. My kids are dear to my heart and I refuse to let them leave my class thinking that no one cares for them. But I cannot do it alone. I need your help to make my classroom more friendly and organized for these wonderful children. Your contribution will show that other people also care about them. Thank you in advance.

My Project

These resources will help me reach my students both in person and online. I service students who have special needs from first grade to fifth grade and they are more than one grade level behind. Due to COVID some are in person and some are in person.

Your support will help my students get support to close their academic gaps.

They need extra help to help them catch up to their peers. Some of my students get picked for being behind. Many of them have self-esteem issues. Everyday we work on their deficits and this will help them.
