My Project

My special needs students love to learn! They are curious, imaginative, and creative. Some of them have superb memories for what they see and hear. They have voices and ideas, even if they are non-verbal. These Chromebooks would help them access technology and applications to help them grow their education.

In a technology literate world, these Chromebooks would be used in the digital reading centers to improve and increase their academic achievements and their focus.

My students are multisensory learners who ,at times, need to see a word, have it highlighted, possibly read to them, and access a picture dictionary, or even word prediction. They can not only respond to what they see and hear, but expand on those ideas by typing, because the motor demands of writing can be frustrating for them.

Having these Chromebooks would give my students an opportunity to enhance their literacy skills in a more academically oriented format, rather than tablet or iPad. This would be impactful in expanding their vocabulary, spelling, and reading fluency. They can not only demonstrate what they learn, but expand on those skills by generating their own thoughts. My students are so proud when they can share what they have learned! Please help me get these chromebooks to give them that moment!
