Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Ever wondered what the future will look like? Look no further! In our classroom, we have your great-grandkids’ favorite pediatrician, astronauts who WILL land on Mars, a police officer/train conductor (but not an MTA cop), and so many more world changers. Investing in our classroom is investing in the future! You’ll need a new pair of sunglasses though, because it’s looking so bright!

Our class prioritizes kindness, working together as a team, setting goals and exceeding them!

Our classroom community consists of 32 incredible students in an Integrated Co-Teaching setting, with both a General Education teacher and a Special Education teacher. Among our 32 rockstars, there are eight students who are English Language Learners (with home languages like Bengali, Arabic, Spanish, and Albanian) and twelve that have special needs. Our classroom is part of a pilot program bridging seven students with Autism into an inclusion setting to foster social skills and enrich understanding for students of all backgrounds. The students in our third-grade class range in ability across five grade-level equivalents. They are passionate, curious, enthusiastic, friendly, and resourceful. They will continue to make the world a better, more beautiful place, but they need your help!

My Project

These tablets will enrich the learning of our diverse classroom community!

Their academic needs are as unique as themselves!

These tablets will help us target instruction and meet our students where their individual needs are. They will discover and grow with engaging, enriching technology! These tablets will give more students in our class regular access to programs, like iReady, which is designed to target their specific needs. Students who are struggling with letter-sound recognition will benefit from the assistive technology to express their wonderful ideas.

They will also be used for small group research projects throughout the year! In social studies, we will be able to travel the globe and explore different countries all from our classroom home in the Bronx. With our technology, students will collaborate to create presentations about the stories they’ve read in book clubs, and gather evidence to support their arguments in persuasive writing. The possibilities are endless and so is their potential! Thank you for considering supporting our classroom community!
